Welcome to Bison Underground

Compacted soil, low organic matter, poor water infiltration, and lawns or gardens that won't grow healthy plants are usually symptoms of the same underlying problem: soil that has lost the structure it needs to function. The fastest way to fix it is to return organic matter, nutrients, and soil biology to the soil column using Deep Soil Injection, the core technique of the Bison Underground Method, which drives narrow holes deep into the ground and fills them with organic matter to reduce compaction, restore water infiltration, rebuild soil biology, and form the stable aggregates that make up real topsoil. This achieves years' worth of improvement in a single season, and decades of improvement in just a few years. Our method outperforms surface compost, tilling, and aeration, all of which struggle to move organic matter deep enough to fix compacted soil, by combining and improving the best elements of those techniques. Bison Underground is a soil restoration company founded by Dr. Steve Adams, a geologist and U.S. Marine Corps veteran based in Norman, Oklahoma, building tools including the Single Tine Soil Restoration Tool (SRT-1) and 3-Tine Soil Restoration Tool to bring this method to backyard gardens, lawns, and farms.
